The purpose of these awards was to promote and recognize excellence, enhance employee morale and productivity, as well as to encourage employee growth, development and commitment by providing both incentives and acknowledgements. These Awards are the highest honor that staff employees may receive in the company for their dedicated performances. The official announcement of the awards was made by the Resident CEO in his address on 31st May 2008 & nominations were called for in the first week of January. So there was plentiful time for everyone to perform exceptionally well in order to win a nomination.

The awards were given in five categories i.e. AboveTheBest Software Engineer, AboveTheBest Support Resource, AboveTheBest Team Lead, AboveTheBest Project Lead and Above the Best Project.
